News & Comment
Talking of bonanzas there’s a feast of sporting events in Wales over the coming months. The Six Nations needs no introduction – Scotland, Italy and France will paying visits to the Millennium Stadium in Feb and March.

Also in Feb, and top of our list for obvious reasons, is Gary Speed’s memorial match. Wales and Costa Rica (against whom Gary made his debut) play at the Cardiff City Stadium on 29th Feb – tickets from www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk or 0845 345 1400. Since we’re on the subject of football, you may still be able to get to go to the Olympics, courtesy of the four football matches (including a GB game, and quarter and bronze finals) being played at the Millennium Stadium in July and August. Once in a lifetime and all that. www.tickets.london2012.com

Elsewhere, if you want to stay warm in-doors but still want your fix of world-class sport there’s the Welsh Open Snooker at the Newport Centre from Feb 13th to 19th www.worldsnooker.com/tickets or Nathan Cleverly’s homecoming as he defends his world title for the first time in Wales at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on the 25th February (029 2022 4488).l
