Fact-file
What came first, your passion for football or presenting on Sgorio?
My passion for football came first.
Who's your favourite footie team
a) in Wales b) anywhere?
In Wales it’s Swansea, UK it’s Liverpool, Europe it’s Barcelona.
What prompted you to become a qualified football coach?
When I left college I ran a health club and used to train a lot of footballers
- they said I'd be a great coach and I should go on a course... so I did! Had
a few strange looks when I turned up on the pitch but I soon proved myself.
I was planning to coach in America and got as far as being offered a job in
New Jersey – but the Sgorio job came up and I haven’t looked back!
Do you coach at the moment? If not do you have any plans?
I haven't done any coaching for ages but it would be fun to work with children.
What would be the first thing you'd do if you were made coach of Wales?
To be fair I think Tosh is the best man for the job and is sowing good seeds
for a successful future
Amongst men in Wales you're best known for Sgorio, how did you get involved?
Heard they were looking for a new presenter - I had my football coaching qualification
and applied for the position. You had to write a script, commentate on a European
game, do a screen test and
an interview....and I got the job. It was amazing to be one of the first female
anchors in the world of football.
What have you been up to since you left Sgorio?
Where to start! I’ve presented extreme sports programmes which gave me
the chance to do lots of daredevil stunts such as wing walking, cliff jumping
and parachuting. I worked on a property programme called Hot Houses - another
subject I love. I’ve also done a travel series, a live saturday night
football show, NBA basketball, boxing, loads of stuff. Recently I’ve
been working on a natural history series which has been a wonderful experience.
It’s truly amazing to study creatures like grizzly bears, crocodiles
and great white sharks in their natural environment.
What are you working on now and what are your plans for the future?
I've just come back from working with wild stingrays in the Cayman Islands
so I’m having a break before I start looking for my next project. Who
knows what my next adventure will be....
How does it feel to be the dream girlfriend of
a generation of young Welsh men?
Lol!
Who would win in a sports quiz - you or Gabby Logan?
Dead
heat – we’re both awesome
